Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The Beast is Resurrected.

The ten-horned beast, the New World Order, is wounded to death but resurrected. In this article, we will consider the rise of a new player that is not exactly new but of them: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization of Russia and China, and how it may fit into the last-day prophecy concerning the ten-horned beast.

We will continue to study the last day prophecy and more particularly the prophecy of the ten-horned beast in the books of Daniel and Revelation. This study is considered by the present author to be a continuation or variant of the interpretations he gave concerning the prophecy of the ten-horned beast in the article The Beast Wounded to Death but Resurrected.

In Chapter The Ten-Horned Beast. Key Players of the Last Days of the present author’s book The Reckoning of Time, we studied the ten key players that comprise the ten-horned beast, the last empire, the New World Order, that is in existence today. Here we will consider the rise of a new player, which is not exactly new but rather offspring of the re-grouping of the already existent players.

In this article, we will discuss The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and how it may fit into the prophecy concerning the ten-horned beast—which will make it a real contender for one of the key players in the last days.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a Eurasian political, economic, and security organization. It was originated as the Shanghai Five group, the creation of which was announced on 26 April 1996 in Shanghai, China, by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan with the signing of the Treaty on Deepening Military Trust in Border Regions. On 15 June 2001 Uzbekistan joined the organization.

On 15 June 2001, the creation of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was announced as a permanent intergovernmental international organization, in Shanghai by the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Its Charter was signed during the St. Petersburg SCO Heads of State meeting in June 2002 and entered into force on 19 September 2003. Thus, the world witnessed a new intergovernmental entity that will play a significant role in the world affairs.

India and Pakistan joined The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as full members on 9 June 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan, thus the eight members of the SCO account for half of the world’s population and a quarter of the world’s Gross Domestic Product.

Several states participate as observers in The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), some of whom have expressed interest in becoming full members in the future. Except for Afghanistan, the observers are moving towards being accorded full member status. Meanwhile, in 2012 Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Nepal and Sri Lanka applied for observer status within the organization. Egypt and Syria have also submitted applications for observer status. The implications of Iran joining the organization has been given much consideration. In September 2013, Armenia expressed to obtain an observer status in The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Thus, currently:

• The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) comprises eight member states, namely the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of India, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

• The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) counts four observer states, namely the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Mongolia.

• The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has six dialogue partners, namely the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the Republic of Turkey, and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

Over the past few years, The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)’s activities have expanded to include increased military cooperation, intelligence sharing, and counterterrorism. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is primarily centered on its member nations’ Central Asian security-related concerns. The increased threats of terrorism, extremism and separatism in the member countries will make necessary a full-scale involvement of armed forces of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members. Officially The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has no plans to become a military bloc.

However, in October 2007, The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) signed an agreement with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), in the Tajik capital Dushanbe, to broaden cooperation on issues such as security. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) with members Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan is the security treaty of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), or its military bloc.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is an international organization for regional economic integration of the member-states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. Observer-members of The Eurasian Economic Union are Afghanistan, Serbia; possible candidate: Iran. In this union Russia is the only nuclear power and possibly Iran. The hypothesis of the present author is that The Eurasian Economic Union is one of the Big Four in Ezra’s prophecy that will rule the world in the last days. (See also Appendix A)

Shanghai flexes muscles

In this article, we will continue to study a possible interpretation of the prophecy concerning the Ten-horned Beast, that is The New World Order. As we studied in the preceding articles, although they are ten, yet they are not to continue to be ten to the end, but to remain four principal kingdoms. In the verse from the Book of 2Esras, we should notice how the prophecies given to Ezra complements those given to Daniel in Dan 7:23-25 and John in Rev 13:1-3 and Rev 17:9-14. We read from the prophecy of 2Es 12:11-30 thus:

That in it there shall arise eight kings, whose times shall be but small, and their years swift. And two of them shall perish, when the middle time approaches: four shall be kept for a while until the time of the ending thereof shall approach: but two shall be kept to the end. (2Es 12:20-21)

On 4 June 2014, in the Tajik capital Dushanbe the idea was brought up to merge The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) with the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which is the military bloc of EAEU. Thus, the idea is brought on the table to create the largest economic, political, but also military bloc in the world: larger and stronger than NATO. With the merge of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization with the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the prophecy in the Book of Ezra that two shall be kept to the end has come to its materialization: two of the Big Four, Russia and China, are the ones that will rule the world.

It is apparent, therefore, that with the strengthening of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the further participation of China in ASEAN+3 and in the Asian group of the Trilateral Commission, becomes irrelevant. On the other hand, the possible merge of Russia (the only superpower that is not a member of the Trilateral Commission) and China will bring forth a strong union of the Euro-Asian countries.

What is peculiar, however, and what makes this union unique is the willingness of the member-countries to bury their differences and even the antagonism between some of them for, what the present author sees, the common interest they have. For instance, the most obvious antagonism is the historical enmity between such rivals as India and Pakistan, but also between China and India, and China and Russia. But these countries managed somehow to put aside those differences and create a union with a common goal, namely, to control the largest landmass on the face of the earth: the Eurasia.

The control of the Eurasian landmass is seen by the western powers as the key to global domination and control; whoever controls that vast area may control the world affairs. Russia and China have been considering the idea of taking their pie of the world affairs by having formed The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in 2001. Officially, the goal of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is to curb extremism in the region and enhance border security, but most probably its real objective is to counterbalance the activities of the United States at the western and eastern borders of the new union. The United States and NATO, however, maneuvering to preserve their status as the world’s sole superpowers, will not be willing to allow any political and/or military bloc to change this status quo and to pose a challenge to them.

However, the move to merge The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) with the Collective Security Treaty Organization, as still being debated, is not far from its realization.

We can be certain that Russia and China will make all efforts necessary towards this unification of not only the economies of the Central Asian countries, but their militaries, as well. Therefore, the rise of a new player on the world’s stage by the merge of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and The Eurasian Economic Union through the vehicle of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, looks irreversible.

In this giant union, the nuclear powers will be Russia, China, India and Pakistan, thus, comprising the largest military force in the world combined. With a possible membership of a nuclear Iran, the new union that can emerge on the stage will be a formidable force in the last days, as it is said in the last book of the Bible:

Release the four messengers, those having been bound at the great river Euphrates. And the four messengers, those having been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. And the number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million, and I heard the number of them. (Rev 9:14-16)

Only one union of the Ten can possibly mobilize and send an army of “two hundred million” for the battle of Armageddon and still has a sufficient contingent in reserve. That would be the union between The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and The Eurasian Economic Union. Let us also notice that Russia is the common member of both unions, and that these nuclear and military powers are already in union since June 2017, namely The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

What is missing from the equation, however, is a formal treaty of military cooperation which may not lag. Once this formal treaty becomes a fact, we will witness the prophecy coming into place: two shall be kept to the end, Russia and China.
