Mystery of Origin of Life
The origin of life by the Spirit of Elohim and the inspiring with life from the Breath of the Almighty has always been a mystery. Elohim created man in His image and since then Adam’s creation is repeated in the formation of every human being. Thus, man became the image of Elohim not in the bodily form, but by the merit of His Breath by which he became a living soul.
Man will never truly comprehend the mystery of origin of life and the way he was created. Yet, Newton said,
After all, if the Bible is God’s Word and it reveals Truth, then the closer we get to the Truth in our presuppositions, the faster we will discover the Truth in the details. Sir Isaac Newton
Truth of the mystery of origin of life enters the human heart and it is not that men do not know the truth. Everyone has the principle of life embedded deep inside him, but many refuse to acknowledge the Creator who gives life.
Everyone born into the world has the choice of knowing right and wrong from the inner witness of his or her conscientiousness. Everyone knows deep down in the soul that he or she was created in the image of His Creator.
Life is a gift from the Creator and every human being knows that taking one’s life is wrong. However, too many hold down the truth of sanctity of life and deliberately attempt to suppress it.
Origin of life
This is how the mystery of origin of life began.
And Elohim created the man in His image, in the image of Elohim He created him – male and female He created them. (Gen 1:27) And Yehovah Elohim formed the man out of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils breath of lives. And the man became a living being. (Gen 2:7)
The simple meaning of the verse is that the first humans were both created on the sixth day, and the explanation is given in Gen 2:7.
In Hebrew, the process of creation, as seen by men, is as this: the Creator formed man from עָפָר aphar, dust, and נָפַח naphach, breathed the breath of life, חַיִּים נִשְׁמַת nish’mat chayim (lit. lives), the breath of the Creator that produces life, and חַיָּה נֶפֶשׁ nephesh chayah, a breathing creature, or an animated living being was created.
Therefore, man was formed from dust עָפָר aphar, which is a metaphor for the finest dust of the matter, or we may call aphar “minerals”. And into his nostril a breath of life was breathed, by which he became a living being, soul. Hence, the nature of man consists of a material substance, body, and immaterial: soul.
Nish’mat chayim or neshamah נְשָׁמָה does not denote the spirit or the soul by which man is distinguished form the animals, but only the breath through which man breathes, because we find that both men and animals have breath of life, נְשָׁמָה neshamah, as seen in Gen 7:22, where the term חַיָּה רֽוּחַ נִשְׁמַת nish’mat ruach chayh, the breath of the wind of life is found.
All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died. (Gen 7:22)
Literally, neshamah means the inhalation and exhalation of air in the lungs of the living creatures such as seen in Job 27:3. In this passage, we find that Job is alive as long as the Ruach of Elohim is in his nostrils.
Neshamah can also be used for a “person”, or one who has “breath” (Jos 11:11).
In other words, neshamah, the breathing, is the Ruach of Elohim in action. We also see the work of Ruach, the Wind of Elohim (aka Spirit) in Job 33:4.
The Wind (Ruach) of El has made me, and the breath (neshamah) of the Almighty gives me life. (Job 33:4)
What Job is saying is that the Wind of the Creator (Ruach) formed him, and He breathed (naphach) His breath (neshamah) in him to give him life (chayah).
We will note here the parallelism between two identical statements: “The Wind (Ruach) of El has made me” and “the breath (neshamah) of the Almighty gives me life”, which parallelism equates neshamah, breath, with ruach, wind.
And since neshamah, breath, and ruach, wind, bring life, then according to Gen 7:22, nish’mat ruach chayah, which means “the breath of the wind of life”, neshamah and ruach can be used interchangeably to denote “breath of life” חַיִּים נִשְׁמַת nish’mat chayim. (Gen 2:7)
It is man’s twofold origin of life that we need to note here: in Job 33:6, the man is formed from the dust, and in Job 33:4, he is formed by the Ruach and Neshamah of the Creator: all in agreement with Gen 2:7.
Yet, in this twofold process, one more thing was created: DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) in the human cells (especially in the brain cells), the genetic code. The DNA is the most sophisticated source of information the Creator has created; it is like “a blueprint” of origin of life. In Job, the DNA is described very simply: wisdom [DNA] in inward parts [human cells].
Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the heart? (Job 38:36)
Note: The Book of Job is a peculiar book on a several accounts: although it is believed to be the oldest written book in the Bible, none of the five characters in it are Hebrews; it is written in a strange Hebrew dialect and its author is unknown. The Book of Job contains most of the scientific facts in the Bible, and particularly of the origin of life, followed only by Psalms and Isaiah. Read more about the Book of Job.
Also, there are two terms in Job 33:4 that we need to know: שַׁדַּי נִשְׁמַת Nish’mat Shaddai, and רֽוּחַ־אֵל Ruach Elohim.
Ruach Elohim (Spirit of God) is the creative power of the creation, of everything visible and invisible (see Gen 1:2), and of all breathing creatures (see Gen 1:26); Nish’mat Shaddai (the Breath of the Almighty) is the life-giving power in Gen 2:7 and Job 33:4.
United as One, echad, in YHVH (which means He who exists forever), Neshamah and Ruach are all Elohim (The Absolute Powers) of the universal life. With His Absolute Power YHVH filled the universe with all matter: visible and invisible. But for insight and wisdom in the creation story, the reader is encouraged to read the article “Einstein formula encoded in Genesis“.
Note: The Hebrew word Elohim literally means “powers” and figuratively “one in power and authority”. We find this meaning, for instance, in the passage in which YHVH vested Mosheh (Moses) with the power and authority to speak and do wonders before Pharaoh. So, before Pharaoh Mosheh acted as elohim: one of power and authority. It is the improper translation in Exodus that brings confusion when read: “I have made you gods”. It is the understanding in Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) that if we need to translate Elohim, we prefer translations such as “The Absolute Power” or “The Absolute One” which better express who the Creator is. The Gentile term “God” cannot be equated with the Hebrew “Elohim”, neither in meaning, nor in concept, although it is its common translation. Yet, the Hebrew Elohim vs. the Gentile God deserves a separate study in TORM.
This Oneness of YHVH is clearly determined in Deu 6:4, which solemnly states,
Shema Israel Yehovah Eloheinu Yehovah Echad
Listen up O Israel! Yehovah our Elohim, Yehovah is one!
This statement of faith, Mosheh gave to Israel, means that YHVH who has the creative Power רֽוּחַ־אֵל Ruach Elohim, and the life-giving Power שַׁדַּי נִשְׁמַת Nish’mat Shaddai, is one. Together, they are the life-giving force of the One YHVH.
With that being said, we need to emphasize again that the breath of man נְשָׁמָה is an inspiration directly coming forth from the Creator through His Ruach, transferred into the body that is made from עָפָר aphar, the dust, and therefore forming a living person חַיָּה נֶפֶשׁ nephesh chayah, where the dust of the earth is merely the substratum of molecules and minerals, (and possibly other invisible things the science does not know), which was formed by the creating Power of YHVH, from which man came into existence. This in essence is the mystery of origin of life, as we will see further in this study.
From Gen 7:22 and Job 33:4 we learned that both man and the Creator have neshamah, breath, and ruach, wind, and rightly so since the Wind (Ruach) of El has made man and the breath (neshamah) of the Almighty gave him life.
And as nephesh chayah of man does not refer merely to a living person, but to the whole human being of body, breath, and consciousness (soul), so the breath neshamah of man does not refer to the spirit of man, ruach, as distinguished from body and soul, as the Ruach of Elohim is not distinguished from YHVH Himself; the Ruach of Elohim comes forth from YHVH who is the Creator and who is One.
Again, Yehovah is the One who possesses and radiates both the creative Power Ruach Elohim, the Wind of Elohim, and the life-giving Power Nish’mat Shaddai, the Breath of the Almighty. Together, Ruach and Neshamah are the life-giving force of the One Yehovah, and both Powers created the universe and the life in it, but Yehovah is one.
Apostle Shaul says,
For the wrath of Elohim is revealed from heaven against all wickedness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known of Elohim is manifest among them, for Elohim has manifested it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible qualities have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, both His everlasting Power and Mightiness, for them to be without excuse, (Rom 1:18-20)
Indeed, His invisible qualities have been clearly seen from His creation, both His creative Power and life-giving Power, so that no one will have an excuse.
Furthermore, the apostle says referring to the Messiah Yeshua,
… who is the likeness of the invisible Elohim, the first-born of all creation. Because in Him were created all that are in the heavens and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or rulership or principalities or authorities – all have been created through Him and for Him. (Col 1:15-16) See also Joh 1:3.

The subject of Oneness of the Creator YHVH in Deu 6:4 is as important as it is. But we will leave this subject for now, and we will return to it in a separate study to elaborate on it.
Therefore, on the relation of the body of man to his nephesh and ruach, nothing can be gathered, from everything we said above, that: (1) the body was created before neshamah, breath, and ruach, spirit, of man, (2) nor that nephesh, soul, was created before the spirit and merely received its life from the spirit.
The formation of man from dust and the breathing of the breath of life in him by the Creator through His Ruach, must not be understood in a sense, as if the Creator first formed the body from dust, and then, by breathing His Breath of life into it, made it into a living being.
But, by His supernatural creative omnipotence, man arose from the dust (aphar) and in the same moment the breath of life (neshamah) was breathed into it and created a living being (nephesh). This process of simultaneous creation of a human being is what we call in Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) a mystery of origin of life.
And indeed, from man’s finite perspective the origin of life looks like a gradual process: first a body was created from the dust, and then a spirit was breathed in him, and he became a living being.
However, from the Creator’s infinite perspectives, the origin of life must be simultaneous, because for Him there is no past and future, only presence. The whole universe, past and future, are laid before Him like a painted canvas.
Everything that had already happened in this world is like still ongoing, and everything that is still to happen is as if it had already happened. The Creator of the universe is beyond time and space.
Note: it is not uncommon to find in the prophetic writings the so-called “future past tense”, i.e., referring to future events in past tense as if they have already happened. Such future past tense we find, for instance, in the prophecy in Zechariah concerning the new Holocaust.
We must explain this in response to those who believe that there is a time gap of hundreds of millions of years between the creation of man as a primitive being without consciousness, i.e., a Neanderthal, and the man with consciousness, when the Creator breathed life in him, and he became a human being. This baseless theory of a time gap or even the theory of two floods, simply cannot be found anywhere in the Scripture, and they are not in the scope of this study.
But what we can find in the Scripture is that by breathing into the nostrils of man, the Creator YHVH through His own Ruach, created in a bodily form the principle of life.
The resurrection of the dead
YHVH asked His prophet Ezekiel the question, whether the dry bones in the valley of the dead could live again (Eze 37:3). Ezekiel answered that it was only Him who could know that. With which we are introduced to the mystery of life that follows,
Thus said the Master Yehovah to these bones, “Behold, I will cause wind to enter into you, and you shall live. And I shall lay sinews on you and bring flesh in you and cover you with skin and put wind in you, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am Yehovah“. (Eze 37:5-6)
The word of YHVH announced here the raising of the dry bones to life: He will clothe them with flesh and put His Wind of life in them so that they will live.
What followed in the prophecy was that the bones were clothed with flesh, but there was not yet any life in them (Eze 37:8). To give them life, the prophet was to prophesy again, this time to הַיִּים רוּחַ Ruach chayim, so that they would live. We will note here that the Spirit the prophet was told to prophesy to would come from the four winds (pl. ruchot).
Prophesy to the spirit, prophesy, son of man, and you shall say to the Spirit, “Thus said the Master Yehovah, Come from the four winds, O Spirit, and breathe on these killed ones, so that they live”. (Eze 37:9)
Then, the breath came into them, and they received life, and YHVH said to the prophet, “Son of man, these bones are the whole House of Israel” (Eze 37:10-11).
In the verses above the Hebrew word ruach is rendered arbitrarily in some translations as “wind”, “spirit”, or “a spirit”, all lowercase, as if referring to natural winds or any spirit.
But neither of these renderings agrees with the context, namely that ruach is not a natural wind or a spirit, as if a wind itself or a ghost could bring life into dead bones, but Ruach, the Wind, or Neshamah, the Breath of life of YHVH.
Indeed, the Hebrew word ruach means “wind”, as found with its literal meaning in the Scripture. And indeed, from the very beginning of the Scripture, the Creator YHVH identifies His power of creation with the word ruach, the wind that hovered upon the face of the earth; and rightly so since what would be more natural for the Creator to identify Himself with than with a wind, strong as a tempest or gentle as a breeze, yet invisible for the eye.
In the translations, however, the word “spirit” is preferred word, but it brings the foreign for the Scripture concept of “holy spirit” and even “holy ghost”. This is why to avoid such foreign concepts that have been brought in the Scripture, in Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM), we prefer to use either the Hebrew names or their literal translations.
Therefore, if the dead bones became living through the blowing of the wind into them, what enters into them is nothing less than the Ruach of YHVH that brings the breath of life, as we read further in verse 14.
And I shall put My Ruach in you, and you shall live, and I shall settle you in your own land. And you shall know that I Yehovah have spoken, and I have done it, declares Yehovah. (Eze 37:14) See also Psa 104:29-30.
In this verse, we are not to understand by “My Ruach” anything different from the “spirit” or “wind” in Eze 37:9 that breathed life into the dry bones. This Ruach is the creative life-giving power of YHVH, the Breath of life, that brings the dead back to life.
Origin of life from conception
For You created my kidneys, You have fenced me in my mother’s womb. I give thanks to You, for I am awesomely and wondrously made! Wondrous are Your works, and my soul knows it well. My substance was not concealed from You, when I was made in secret, knit together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body and in Your Book they were all written: the days which were formed, none of them was joined. (Psa 139:13-16)
The psalmist literally is saying “You created my kidneys, You have fenced me in my mother’s womb”. We should note here that from Hebraic perspectives, the kidneys are the seat the consciousness, as strange it may sound.
So, when the psalmist referred to the kidneys YHVH created, he referred to them as essential organs in the interior of the human body, the seat the inner self. This consciousness is a subject of a constant tests and trials by Him who tries the heart and the inward parts, and the depth of the soul.
The fact that man is manifest to His Creator to the very detail of his nature, i.e. kidneys, is confirmed from the development of the child in the mother’s womb, which work is looked on as the greatest mystery of origin of life and as a marvel of the Omniscient One.
Man is made in awe of his Creator; in the image of Elohim, he is made. The formation of life in the depths of the earth is a mystery concealed from the comprehension of man, but not from the eyes of his Creator who sees how the unformed body is being animated cell by cell and bone by bone until the whole body is formed; all being happened before His eyes.
This is the mystery of origin of life we may never understand.
This mystery, we are told in the psalm, is written in the Book of Life whenever life begins. Furthermore, that psalmist tells us that all body members and all days which were pre-determined for the formation of life are written, even when none of these members and days were in existence. Who is able the comprehend this mystery of life?
And this mystery of origin of life is further expounded through the prophet Jeremiah.
Before I formed you in the belly I knew you, and before you came out of the womb, I did set you apart … (Jer 1:5)
Among the days which are pre-formed in the idea of the Creator to create life, there is also a day for the unformed body, i.e., the embryonic beginning of life, in which He has already known man.
Thus, the omniscient knowledge of the infinite Creator YHVH embraces the beginning of life, its development, and completion in one principle of life: the mystery that is beyond human comprehension.
As you do not know what is the way of the wind, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of Elohim who makes all? (Ecc 11:5)
As a man has no knowledge of the way of the natural things, so the mystery of origin of life in the mother’s womb and the works of the Creator, lie beyond his knowledge.
Man’s creation in the image of YHVH was determined before he was conceived or born. The Creator in His counsel has not only foreordained life but has predetermined even before birth what is to be his calling on the earth. He has so influenced the origin of life in the womb, as to form it according to His will, namely, to come forth into a new life outside of the womb.
With that being said, we are coming to the truth that the will of the Creator is to bring forth life from the mother’s womb.
The wickedness of this world, the so-called pro-choice movement, has turned the mother’s womb into a grave for her baby. A mother is led to believe that the baby in her womb is her body and she has the freedom of choice: to keep her baby or not. The wickedness says, “Do not keep it!”
… because I was not slain from the womb, so that my mother might have been my grave and her womb pregnant again and again. (Jer 20:17)
Millions of millions of unborn babies have been slaughtered alive in the womb on the altar of the satan. The voices of their blood cries out to their Creator from the ground.
There is nothing more innocent than the unborn babies who have done nothing to deserve such a horrible death ripped from the mother’s womb.
There is nothing more horrible than the mother’s womb turned into a grave of her child. Who can despise these little ones who will never feel love, hope, and happiness?
About the evil done in the abortion clinics, the altars of the satan, Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) spoke up, when we first published the article “The real face of abortion America must see it to believe it” and will keep on speaking up.
Behold, the awe of Yehovah, that is wisdom, and to turn from evil is understanding. (Job 28:28)
But how many have understanding?
Those who can read this article were not slain from the mother’s womb.
The next article will be about the mystery of origin of life of Yeshua the Son of YHVH.
Knowledge known to only a few will die out. If you feel blessed by these teachings of Time of Reckoning Ministry, help spread the word!
May we merit seeing the coming of our Mashiach speedily in our days!
