The Troublesome Lives of a Mother

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 18 November 2025: At first glance, the story of the life of Sarah looks like nothing extraordinary, but a closer examination shows that much of it is lost in the story of the troublesome life of Avraham. Sarah is the only woman whose age is recorded in the Scriptures. Of all the women, only for Sarah are the number of her years as well as the place in which she was buried mentioned. This peculiarity comes to show how important her life was in the eyes of the narrator of Genesis. But all troubles for the matriarch began and ended with the grave mistake Avraham made when he misunderstood the words of the Omniscient One to bring his son up on the mountain. Read more.

The Eternal Creator as the Life of the Universe

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 10 October 2025: If there are any doubts that the prophecy in the Book of Daniel is not concerning the end of times but concerning Antiochus IV Epiphanes (c. 215 BCE–164 BCE), the last Chapter 12, wherein the end of the world is described, shreds them all. In this introduction to our survey, we would like to touch upon on a phrase in the Book of Daniel that much has been overlooked in the traditional commentaries, considering its unique standing in the verse. The Verses in Isaiah 53 All Agree Upon

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 5 October 2025: At first glance, the account of the suffering servant in Isaiah 53 looks like an account of a suffering individual, because of the language employed in it that uses characteristics acquainted with man. But a closer examination shows that much of the translation is misappropriated, because it was taken out of context. In the preceding article “The Servant in Isaiah 53: Collective figure of Israel or an Individual”, we defended the view that it is crucial for the correct understanding of Chapter 53 of Isaiah to read it in its proper context and to identify who is the speaking one in it. Besides the context, there is one more thing to consider, namely, the way the book is written. Yeshayahu’s standing as a prophet is second only to … Read more.

How Torah Protects a Captive Woman in War

Captive Israeli girls held by Hamas

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 10 September 2025: There have been wars since the beginning of the world. The first murder was committed by the firstborn in the world Kayin who killed his twin brother Havel. Since then, the killing of human beings by human beings has become a norm of war. Since the ancient times, another form of crime has become a norm of war: rape. Rape in time of war has been weaponized to spread fear in the invaded land and demoralize its population. Girls and women have been raped, abducted, and sold as sex-slaves in the markets or as concubines in harems to satisfy animalistic lust. Today’s world is no more different than the ancient one. The 7 October massacre, the brutal gang rape of Israeli girls and women, and the burning of babies alive, and since then the murderous operations of the tentacles of the octopus against the State of Israel, are gruesome evidence of present and existing evil. But the reader’s mind will settle when one reads what the Torah teaches concerning the matter of protecting women in time of war. Read more.

The Mistaken Identity of the Slain Prophet in Zechariah 13

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 3 September 2025: It is the object of this work to explain the Hebrew text of Zechariah 13 and to expose certain alterations in the KJV translation which significantly change the message in the prophecy. But this endeavor is only possible when we explore the issue from Hebraic perspectives. Once we know what the Hebrew text indeed reads and understand the meaning of its words and know its grammar, we can draw correct conclusions at the end of this study. We will explain the reason for this in due course. Read more.

The Druzes—The Forgotten People in the Scripture

Israel’s President Herzog meets Druze leader after massacre in Syria’s Sweida region (JNS)

Israel’s President Herzog meets Druze leader after massacre in Syria’s Sweida region (JNS)

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 27 July 2025: The Druze people are an ethnoreligious group. Today, there are Druze communities in Syria (the largest one), Lebanon, Israel, and Jordan (the smallest one). The Druze culture and language are Arabic, yet their social customs are different from the mainstream Arab nationalism, as the Druzes integrate fully in their adopted countries. What is peculiar for the Druzes is that they maintain close ties within the community across the borders, yet they remain loyal to the host countries even though the host countries may be enemies. The best example of this is the Druze communities in Syria and Israel, which are divided on which side of the sectarian violence fueled by the Syrian Islamists they should stand. Should Israel defend the Druze from “former” ISIS in Syria and why? Read more.

What Type of Work is Prohibited on the Sabbath Day?

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 17 July 2025: At the head of the Creator’s appointed times in Leviticus 23, where all the appointed times are listed, the Sabbath Day (Hebrew, Shabbat) stands alone as the day which the Creator had already set apart from the beginning of creation, as His own rest and a day of rest for His people (Genesis 2:3). Much later in history, He will codify it as a law and one of the commandments in the Covenant in Exodus 20:8-11. We read the literal translation of the first account concerning the Sabbath Day, … Read more.

The Lessons A Levite Should Have Learned

The lessons Korach did not learn

The lessons Korach did not learn

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 26 June 2025: The whole subject of speaking evil in the Torah is extremely confusing, when we look at it only in the narrow context of a single story, even though well narrated. The reason why we find this important to emphasize in the very opening of our study will be made clear further on. In the following, it remains for us to explain the necessity of addressing the subject of speaking evil, which arises from the fact that there are several Scriptural passages in which it appears. It becomes, therefore, our duty to explain these passages in the overall context, since so many people are confused regarding them, despite that fact that much has been written on the subject. In the following, therefore, we would like to posit another way to look at this phenomenon that persists even today. This matter can best be understood in connection with the story of a Levite, who had been chosen for service in the Tabernacle. Read more.

When the Private Life of a Prophet Like Mosheh Matters

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 15 June 2025: In Numbers 12, we find that Miriam and Aharon spoke against Mosheh concerning the Kushite woman whom he had just married. According to oral tradition, which is not well established, the rabbis have learned that the Kushite woman was Tsippora, the Midianite, the daughter of Yitro, who was called Kushite (Ethiopian) because she was beautiful as the Kushite women were. Although Tsippora was Mosheh’s wife, he had separated from her and refrained from marital relations in order to commune with the Eternal in the Tabernacle on account of purity. Thus far the tradition. The whole subject in Numbers 12 regarding Mosheh’s second marriage of is perplexing, when we look only at what has been revealed to us in the narration. And if we add the Rabbinic tradition to it, it becomes extremely perplexing. Why so? Read More.
