The Saga of the Last Patriarch
Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 11 January 2025: After Yoseph was sold in slavery and spent many years first as a slave and then in a prison accused unjustly, he rose to power in Egypt to become only second to Pharoah; he became the viceroy of Egypt. And Yoseph changed. Away from home and family, he was no longer the favored son of his father, who was reporting his brothers. In his encounter with his brothers, who came down to Egypt to buy grain on account of the famine in the land of Kana’an, he learned that his brothers, who wanted first to kill him but then to sell him, were not the same brothers either. They too changed to become responsible men, especially his brother Shimon who suggested to kill him, and Yehudah who wanted to sell him for money, but it was Yehudah who offer himself as a slave in his brother’s place. They were not the brothers who had animosity toward the favored son of their father. They were not jealous toward Binyamin, the other son of Rachel, whom Yoseph favored in order to test them. But they all came together to protect Binyamin, when Yoseph threatened to take him as a slave in another test. Now that the brothers reconciled the past, they reunited in a foreign land, when Ya’akov and all his family, seventy souls, descended to Egypt in the second year of the famine. With the above in mind, we may now understand that this compels us to consider the question: The brothers indeed changed, but did their father change? Read more.
Why Israel Did Not Leave Egypt After the Famine
Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 5 January 2025: Yoseph administered Egypt during the seven years of famine, which are interrupted in order to describe how his family came to settle in Egypt. In the first year of the famine, there was no bread in the entire country, since the famine was very severe and all the grain that they had set aside as a reserve during the seven years of plenty had gone. And because the people languished due to the famine, Yoseph opened the granaries of Egypt. In Gen. 47:13-27, we learn that Yoseph had done more than just rescue Egypt from the famine. He instituted a new political system of Egypt by taking over all land as property of Pharaoh and making the people his servants. Yoseph uprooted the Egyptians from their places and moved from one end of Egypt to the other end, in order to disown them. Once the Egyptians were settled on land which was not theirs, they could not return to their lands settled by other people. We should recall that King Nevuchadnetsar of Babylon did exactly that with the peoples he conquered. Read more.

Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 4 January 2025: Yoseph was sold in Egypt as a slave. But the Elohim of his father was with him and did not abandon him as his brothers did. Now raised to the highest rank in Egypt, only second to Pharaoh himself, Yoseph could set his thought on his family in the land of Kana’an. On account of the famine that was throughout the whole land, his brothers came down to Egypt to buy grain, for grain could be found only in Egypt. Yoseph was expecting them to come for the famine was very great. And when they came, Yoseph put them in the same situation to commit the same sin, this time against their father’s favorite son: Binyamin. Christmas is considered one of the holiest if not the holiest day in the Christian calendar of the western Church. Many Christians around the world celebrated the birth of Christ on Christmas Day, the 25th of December. While Christmas is believed to be the day of the birth of Christ, there are strong arguments in the Scripture that this is not the case. Rather, Christmas-like pagan practice around ornamented evergreen trees was celebrated in the ancient world that was exposed in the Book of Jeremiah. Yet, despite this, in our world Christmas Day is a public holiday in many nations that is celebrated religiously by many Christians and culturally by many non-Christians alike. The Coronation Psalm and the War of Gog of Magog
Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 25 December 2024: Psalm 2 is written as a psalm without a heading in honor of a particular king. Its content and visionary language indicate that it is not describing a specific king but rather depicts a prophetic vision of the future redeemer, Melech haMashiach, King Messiah, as it is written: “This day I have brought you forth”. The psalmist penned his Psalm as a mirrored picture of what he saw and as an echo of what he heard. In the prophecy given through Natan the prophet (2Sa 7:5-16), the Eternal promised everlasting kingship to the House of David. One of the themes of the coronation of the kings of Israel was adoption, as it is written: “I will be to him for a father, and he shall be to Me for a son” (2Sa 7:14). Read more.
Did the Brothers Exile Yehudah for Selling Yoseph?
Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 20 December 2024: No matter how we will read the narratives of Ya’akov and Yoseph, we still will not know the entire story. And the story reads well until we start reading it carefully. Then, several questions start presenting themselves to the careful reader. And the Yoseph story begins in Genesis 37, wherein we learn that his father, Ya’akov, moved to the land of Kana’an, the land of his father, as we read, “These are the generations of Ya’akov. Yoseph, being seventeen years old, …” But should not have the genealogy said, “These are the generations of Ya’akov: Reuben, Shimon, Levi, Yehudah, etc.”? Why Yoseph? Because everything that happened to Yoseph from now on affected Ya’akov’s life. And to Ya’akov’s life we now turn to explain. The whole subject in Genesis 37-39 is extremely confusing, when we look only at what has been revealed to us in the narration. For this reason, we need to resort to textual criticism and logic to make better sense of this whole episode. Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 10 December 2024: Why did the Eternal move Israel and his family from the land of Kana’an to Egypt? The reason why Israel moved to Egypt, which turned to slavery, is not explicitly stated in the Torah. Was it an exile and if so, why? We have the reason to believe that it was an exile but why? Because of the famine? In the issue of famine in the entire land, there is a common mistake made when it is asserted that it caused the relocation of Israel to Egypt, where there was plenty of food. And if we are to say that the famine was the cause of the relocation, why did only Israel move to Egypt, and not the Kana’anites, since the famine affected the entire land? And who caused the famine in the first place and why? Yet, if we are to say that a strong nation is forged in challenges and trials, why was the nation of Israel not made such in Kana’an? The Troublesome Life of a Patriarch
Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 24 November 2024: The Eternal told Avraham to leave his homeland and to go to an unknown land he would inherit. He promised Avraham to make him a father of many nations, innumerous as the stars. But as Avraham entered the promised land, he was wandering childless for twenty-four years. Then, Avraham was promised he would have a son, only one son. A year later Yitschak the promised son was born. At the age of thirty-seven, Yitschak was still childless, not even married, when the Eternal ordered Avraham to slaughter him, his only son: and all of this in order to test his righteousness, as if the Omniscient One needed to learn something He did not know?! There are questions to be asked here. What was the point of testing of Avraham’s faith, if the Omniscient already knew that Avraham would pass the test?! And why was there the need for the Eternal Elohim to test Avraham’s righteousness, when He had already declared him righteous many years before the test?! Read more.
The Messenger Who Stopped Avraham’s Hand
Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 18 November 2024: The request from the Eternal to Avraham to bring up his son on the mountain and sacrifice him there comes out of nowhere. Why? For the Eternal said to him with a promise: “For it is through Yitschak that will be called your descendants” (Genesis 21:12). But then He said: “Take your son …and bring him up” (Genesis 22:2). And now it was said to Avraham: “Do not extend your hand against the lad. Do not touch him”. We wonder though! Our question concerning this is: Did the Eternal give a son to Avraham in the last of his days in order to tell him now to go and slaughter him without any wrong doings of his, and destroy not only the life of his only son but also the Covenant of promise? Has anyone known or heard of it, that such a thing could have ever passed His mind to pour out the blood of innocents in order to establish righteousness? Has He ever said such a horrible thing like this to any man to slay his own child in order to test his righteousness? After they arrived at the mountain and Avraham tied Yitschak on an altar, the Eternal revealed to him that his plan was never actually to have his son offered up as a human sacrifice. The old man’s mind begins to darken, as the autumn of his life with clouds and rains is approaching (Ecc 12:2), all as a description of human life coming to an end. The dissolution of the life by which the separation of soul and body and the return of the soul to the Creator is thus completed, while the ordinary life continues in its course (Ecc 12:3-5). And the end of the life-force and the earthly body is the end of the perishing man. But the Hebrew text draws attention with its peculiarities and raises questions for whose answers we need to resort to the writings of the Sages to make better sense of what is meant in the narrative. We will show that the question of the design of the ark Noach built is far from being trivial and hope to show that the Hebrew text of Genesis 6 is far more interesting than thought. Had Adam and Chavah not been endowed with free choice, they never could have defied the Creator’s will not to eat from the Tree of Good and Evil. He therefore had to resort to a plan to make them desire to eat from it to test their faith. He achieved this by using the personification of evil inclination without interfering with their basic freedom of choice. Everything is foreseen except for freedom of choice, for freedom of choice is granted in order to hold men accountable for what they do. Adam and Chavah had the opportunity to be effected by their choice and free will, which would have made them liable to reward or punishment, as it is written, “I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. The Time When Gog of Magog Will Be Dragged Like a Beast
Time of Reckoning Ministry (TORM) 21 October 2024: The prophecy in the Book of Ezekiel, Chapters 38 and 39, address the End of Days and describes a large-scale war a coalition of international armies will wage against Israel. The head of this massive army is obscurely identified in Ezekiel as “Gog of the land of Magog”. But who is he? We are asking the reader to consider what we intend to say in this study. Considering the unique standing of this figure, the reader has therefore to expect that the subject mentioned in this introduction is a matter of private interpretation to the best knowledge of the present author. For the purpose of this study, we will focus on Chapters 38 and 39 which describe the war of Gog of the land Magog. Guide for the Perplexed in the World of Dualism

It is the object of this work to seek the answers to these questions. This work has also a second object: to explain the Hebrew text of certain Messianic passages in the Book of Isaiah in relation to the subject of belief in a single Deity, and to serve as a guide for the perplexed mind in the world of prevailing dualism, wherein there is nothing without its opposite, and with the absolute good, there is opposite him one who is absolute evil. This cannot be! In this study, we will take a different approach to studying the issue of monotheism. The present work thus deals with a subject that has not been touched upon in the Rabbinic and Christian literatures alike.
