Which is the longest chapter in the Bible?
Question: Which is the longest chapter in the Bible? And which is the shortest?
Answer: The Bible has many chapters whose number varies depending on the denomination, but which is the longest chapter in the Bible? Which is the shortest?
The shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117 having only 2 verses and the longest is Psalm 119.
Psalm 117 begins and ends with ‘Praise Yehovah’ addressed to the heathen world. Psalm 119 is devoted to the praise of the Torah of YHVH, which is mentioned in every verse using different synonyms of Torah but one, Psa 119:122. Psalm 119 is divided up into twenty-two parts. At the beginning of each part is the name of a Hebrew letter. The first section is called aleph, the second is beyt, and so on. This Psalm is what is called an acrostic psalm.
Between the shortest and longest psalm is Psalm 118 which is known among the Jews as the Messiah psalm.
